About the Instructors:

Kevin Saicheur started dancing back in 2007 with breakdance in high school with friends and learning from YouTube. However, he decided to take dance more seriously after sneaking into sessions with the UC Davis Breakdance and Popping club in 2008. Since then, Kevin has learned various other styles from popping, hip hop, locking, and house. He also had many opportunities to train and dance alongside many amazing companies and individuals such as Brian โ€œLil Bโ€ Perez, Keeley โ€œLocknโ€™ Keyโ€ Kaukimoce, Brandon โ€œKnowbodyโ€ Greathouse, FunktionPoint, and the Bay Area Lockers. Kevin values freestyling, its foundations, the culture, and history behind them; and believes that everyone should learn from it.

Danaite Gebremeskel is a dancer based out of the Bay Area. She moved from Ethiopia at the age of 15 and started pursuing dance right away. After gaining some basic leadership experiences, choreographing for many shows and performing nationally and internationally she now resides in the Bay where she shares her knowledge of Afro Dance. She hopes to provide a positive and safe space for others to express their passion and art. After dealing with many struggles in life, Danaite still continues to push and reach for the stars.

Jenelle "Jadu" Gaerlan (she/they) is a multi-disciplined creative and freelance dancer from Portland, Oregon. Having trained in different styles of jazz, contemporary, hip hop and freestyle/improvisational practices, Jenelleโ€™s house dance comes from a place of coexistence and interconnectivity between movement languages. From a young age she was introduced to house dance & culture by Kumari Suraj, and falling more in love with the essence & culture, Jenelle has more recently incorporated it in her movement practices with guidance & mentorship by Decimus Yarborough. Jenelle currently dances for Robert Mosesโ€™ KIN and is fascinated by the intersection of visual media, movement and its implications within cultural practices. With expertise in movement, choreography, video production, design and creative direction, she is now relocated in the Bay Area to build and connect with other multifaceted artists.

Alejandro aka Prince Ali was born and raised in the city of San Jose, CA. His love for music and dance lead him to discover the artistic expression of โ€œhip hopโ€ during his early teenage years. Since then he has been given the chance to represent alongside some of the longest running dance crews in the Bay Area: Playboyz Inc (est. 1981) and Renegade Rockers (est. 1983). Ali competes, performs, and teaches in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. His travels have led him to U.S. hot spots such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and even to places overseas like London, England.
