Waacking Workshop w/ Tyrone Proctor

We are honored to have such a legend in the Waacking and Dance community, Tyrone Proctor, come to share his knowledge, passion, and experience with us here in the Bay Area! He is here as part of Project X and will be judging the Waacking Battle on Sat, April 13th. But, before the battles begin, he will be teaching a 2-Part workshop at our studio! Do not miss this one and only opportunity to learn, discuss and ask questions about Waacking, the dance world and Tyrone Proctor himself! Tyrone was there when waacking was born in the clubs, so he is definitely the teacher to learn from! Not only will students be learning from one of the greats in club/ street dance, but students interested will receive very rare and hidden music from his own collection. Details are below:

Tyrone Proctor is one of the last of the living Pioneers of the 70’s dance craze, Waacking. Tyrone made history on the dance TV classic Soul Train. He was personally chosen by Don Cornelius to perform in the Don Cornelius & The Soul Train Gang Presents stadium tour in 1973.

Tyrone was a winner on American Bandstand in 1975 and made numerous appearances in Right On Magazine which led to his teenaged Idol status for many years. He choreograph Music Videos for artists such as Jody Watley, Taylor Dane, Levert, Keith Sweat, The Isley Brothers, and Johnny Kemp’s Just Got Paid to name a few. Tyrone was nominated with New Kids On The Block for Best Choreographer at the1989 M.TV. Awards.

Tyrone's choreography set visual standards for pop culture's Boy Band Craze. Tyrone was featured in VH1 Documentary Soul Train, The Hippest Trip in America. He now teaches all over the world and continues to spread the knowledge and history of Waacking.
