[MEET THE CHOREOGRAPHERS]

Gustavo is a current member/frequent choreographer for Str8jacket. His work with the team includes a collaborated waacking piece for their World of Dance Bay Area 2017 set, an all women/all men waacking section in their World of Dance Bay Area 2018 set, a collaborative moment in NBCโ€™s World of Dance Season 3 set, and a collaborative piece in the latest Elements 2019 set. Aside from taking part in Str8jacket, Gustavo has also been heavily involved in the competitive color guard activity. In the years between 2013-2016, he performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard and The Blue Devils, the top two independent teams in the world at the time, and won two World Championship titles, as well many other top three positions. He has since stopped performing and now focuses mainly on being a color guard instructor at Saratoga High school, where he has been able to, along with the amazing staff he works with, take the program to higher levels and allow them to experience performing with the best of the best at the WGI World Championships. Gustavo is very excited to be teaching his second official workshop for Str8jacketโ€™s spring fundraiser! His style can vary from something contemporary and very emotional, to something more jazzy and fierce. His goal is to make dancers as confident as they can be, and to make them embody the music, without worrying about whoโ€™s watching. One thing youโ€™ll be able to take away from any of his classes, is that itโ€™s perfect to be imperfect, and you can be absolutely whoever you want.
