[WEEK 5] Class 1: Robert Yu and Crystal Chan (Team Velociraptors) Time: 8:30-10:00 PM

[MEET THE CHOREOGRAPHERS] Robert: “Hello! My name is Robert Yu and I am an artist from the Bay Area (and a recent Cal grad!). I have choreographed and danced for the past 7 years and have been a leader in the Berkeley Dance Community for several years. I have experience dancing on/leading: Team Velociraptors, Raptors Camp, TrueLement, the [M]ovement, Training Ground, and Raw Art Within. I have experience teaching at: Sinostage & Kinjaz Dojo in Chengdu China, UC Berkeley, Monday Night Workshop, In The Groove Studios, Full Out Studios, and City Dance Studios. I currently help direct Team Velociraptors with my friends and continue to teach at In the Groove Studios. I love to create things and I love to teach. I have made two visual dance albums: ‘That One Feelsy Album’, ‘Robert’s Chengdu Series’ (from my teaching trip at the Kinjaz Dojo in China). I am very excited to share with the Str8jacket community and teach with my girlfriend Crystal. We will be teaching our distinct style so hope to see you guys there!”
Crystal: “Hi! My name is Crystal Chan and I am a recent graduate from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). There, I studied both Biology and Modern Dance. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and I’ve trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, and hip hop/urban dancing. I have been an active leader in the Berkeley Dance Community and currently dance on Team Velociraptors based in Berkeley. It really means a lot to both Robert and I to have the chance to teach and share our movement together to the greater dance community. Thank you so much for having us Str8jacket!”
