What do a X-factor finalist, a world renowned poet, a NAACP Image Award Nominee, and a Janet Jackson dancer all have in common? They have all graced the stage at a DAM event. Now in its seventh year, the event is a major draw for inspiring creators and performers who are deeply committed to giving raw, untapped Bay Area talent a place to grow.
tacked with hand-picked talent of all ages, this year's event promises to be as bold and inspiring as those of the past, which have included appearances by Ellona Santiago (“X-Factor”), Kida Burns (“So You Think You Can Dance”), Ellen Kim (Beyoncé, Justin Bieber), Prentice Powell and D’Dra White (“Verses and Flow”), and Ysabelle Capitule (Bruno Mars). Performers as young as 7 will take the stage, as well as students from local schools and semi-professional artists.
MC’d by beloved Bay Area personalities DCisChillin from 106 KMEL and RJ KoolRaul Navalta (World of Dance, Hip Hop International) this multigenre, multifaceted talent showcase represents everything that is unique about the Bay Area’s creative culture. Hosted in the heart of San Francisco's budding SOMA District at the DNA Lounge, a venue that has been a touring stop for the likes of Prince and Bone Thugs n Harmony, audience members are not only treated to performances by on-the-verge artists, but they are also afforded the opportunity to scope & shop in a bazaar type marketplace.
It all goes down on Thursday, February 22nd. Though intended for a mature audience, DAMsf is open to guests of all ages
